​Important Note: Mrs. Kham cherishes her time with guests, but due to her family commitments in Luang Prabang with her husband and two daughters, she may not always be available to accommodate guests. However, rest assured, her family members and Mr. Say, the local guide, reside in the village and are fully equipped to take care of guests, ensuring you have a seamless and enjoyable experience.

Day 1

9:00 AM - Departure from your hotel in Luang Prabang
  • Start your adventure with a scenic drive from Luang Prabang to the village.
9:30 AM - 10:30 AM - Local Market Food Tour
  • Explore some local market to select fresh ingredients for your stay.
12:00 PM - 12:30 PM - Arrival and River Crossing
  • Arrive in the village area and cross the river via local ferry or pirogue. Meet and greet with the host family.
12:30 PM - 1:30 PM - Lunch with the Family
  • Enjoy a traditional Lao lunch with the host and family.
1:30 PM - 2:00 PM - Rest Period
  • Relax and unwind after your journey.
2:00 PM - 5:00 PM - Village Activities
  • Engage in local activities such as visiting the village school, meeting artisans, and watching weavers at work. You can even have a custom dress made!
5:00 PM - 6:00 PM - Bathing Time
  • Refresh with a bath in the river or a shower in the house.
6:00 PM - 7:00 PM - Evening Activities
  • Participate in an optional baci ceremony, or prepare dinner with Kham. Alternatively, enjoy a Beer Lao or local drink with your hosts.
7:30 PM - 9:00 PM - Dinner with the Family
  • Savor a traditional Lao dinner with the host family.
9:00 PM Onwards - Evening Entertainment
  • Join the hosts for their favorite after-dinner activity: playing cards. They are quite skilled, so be prepared for some friendly competition!
Day 2
5:00 AM - 6:00 AM - Morning Preparations
  • Wake early to prepare sticky rice for the morning monk's offering.
6:00 AM - 7:00 AM - Alms Giving at the Temple
  • Participate in the sacred alms giving ceremony at a local temple.
7:00 AM - 8:00 AM - Breakfast with the Family
  • Enjoy a hearty breakfast to start your day.
8:00 AM - 10:00 AM - Fishing on the Ou River
  • Experience fishing on the Ou River with Kham and her uncle, learning traditional techniques.
10:00 AM - 1:00 PM - Hiking and Exploring
  • Hike to the rice fields and discover the life of rural farmers. Visit family-run organic gardens along the way.
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM - Lunch with the Family
  • Enjoy a delicious lunch with the host family.
2:00 PM - 3:00 PM - Free Time
  • Explore the village at your leisure and purchase souvenirs if desired.
3:00 PM - 3:30 PM - Departure
  • Cross the river by local boat and begin your journey back to Luang Prabang.
5:00 PM - Return to Your Hotel
  • Arrive at your hotel, marking the end of your enriching Homestay Experience.
